Orangutan Tours Camp Leakey in Central Borneo

Orang Utan is great ape that only live in Borneo (Kalimantan) and Sumatra Islands and the only great apes that living outside of africa . Just like other apes like Gorrillas or Chimps, they are in danger of extinction because of human activity. This Journey will bring you to the heart of Tanjung Puting National Park in Pangkalan Bun - Central Borneo/Kalimantan to visit Orang Utans and enjoy rain forest on exotic tropical island of Borneo including river eco toursby local wooden river boat special for tourist or known as klotok. Klotok will take you by the river to Orang Utan observation camp like the famous Camp Leakey . Just pack your boots and get ready of the taste of wild adventure of Kalimantan great forest.

Important notice; by visiting Tanjung Puting National Park and its Orang Utans, you also contribute to preserve the rain forest and endangered Orang Utan species.

Day 01 JAKARTA OR SEMARANG - PANGKALAN BUN – RIVER ECO TOURS
Fly by Linus Air from Jakarta or from Semarang by Kalstar or IAT Air to Pangkalan Bun and upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, you will be picked up by our staff and then take you to Kumai by car for 20minutes to board on the boat. Cruise up river to explore the wildlife along the Seikonyer River, in the late afternoon you will see the proboscis monkey and other primates found along the river sides. The boat will cruise slowly to observe wildlife as long as river sides in Tanjung Puting National Park. You can choose for accommodation, stay over night and take dinner at Lodge or On Boat

Day 02 RIMBA LODGE/BOAT-PONDOK TANGGUY FEEDING CAMP - END TOURS
After breakfast you will slowly cruise up river to Pondok Tangguy feeding camp to see the orangutan, it is a new rehabilitation center where orphaned orangutan are introduced into the forest, here we will see orangutan feeding time at 09:00 in the morning, then continue to take short trekking in this area. For your best short weekend holiday, we will cruise back down the river to Kumai Port and directly drive to Pangkalan Bun Airpot to catch your flight for next destination
